Calling all boys! In a peer-reviewed Journal of Social Issues, in an article titled The Boy Scouts and the Validation of Masculinity the author suggest that by being a Boy Scout it allows one to reclaim ones masculinity.
(Hantover, J., 1978) suggest that adult men believe that their masculinity was being restricted so the creation of scouting was a means to counteract that perceived forces of feminization in the world of adolescents. Many people join organizations for many reasons here are 10 Reasons boys should be in Boy Scouts.
- Builds character development
- Builds respectful relationships
- Provides personal achievement
- Enhances fitness and sportsmanship
- Allows for friendly service
- Provides an opportunity for appreciation of natural resources and environments
- Promotes honesty
- Prepares individuals to be responsible
- Teaches cooperation
- Promotes compassion

FYI–> A trusted source shared with me a few preferred troops. The preferred local troops/cub scouts in ft Lauderdale that are pretty active and camp out once a month consist of : Cub-scout pack #608 this is a very involved family friendly Pack. Troop #190 and Troop #32, which is a nautical group also known as NT32.
