For film buffs and folks who appreciate a deal, we’d like to offer some suggestions for a frugal approach to entertainment.

In Broward, free movies and opportunities to snap up movie deals are easily accessible.

Free movies

 Paragon Deerfield 8 movie theater in north Broward is showing kids’ flicks for free most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays while school is on summer break.

Broward libraries offer a wide assortment of DVDs to check out for free, and some library branches show movies for free. Library card holders may access free streaming of a selection of independent flicks.

Various municipalities offer family-friendly movies in local parks. Among them,  Pompano Beach is showing “Teen Beach Movie” June 21 at the aquatics facility. Hollywood presents free movies at 8 p.m. most Fridays at ArtsPark on Hollywood Boulevard.

Movie deals

Several Regal theaters in Broward are offering $1 kids’  movies  in the morning Tuesdays and Wednesdays during summer break.

Paradise 24 in southwest Broward is among Cinemark theaters offering $1 kids’ movies Wednesday mornings during summer break. Or purchase of package of 10 tickets for $5.

Fandango is offering 2-for-1 movie theater tickets with eligible Visa Signature purchase

Participating AMC theaters are offering $3 movies in the evening Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Participating Red Robin restaurants are offering a free ticket to “Hercules” with eligible purchase of a $25 gift card.
